25 February 2018 – Year 11 and 12 Music Workshop

  • Date: Sunday 25 February 2018, 9:30am to 12:30pm
  • Venue: Callaway Auditorium, School of Music, University of Western Australia – click here for a map.
  • Orchestra players asked to supply morning tea.
  • Neat casual attire for orchestra players
  • The entry cost is $10 for students and $5 for parents/guardians.

Mahler – Symphony No.2 (‘Resurrection’)


  • Rehearsals likely commence 20 June, although rehearsal schedule may be subject to significant change as we try and fit various other orchestras and choirs in
  • Final whole group rehearsals to be held Camp Quaranup, Albany, with onsite accommodation and catering for players from after lunch on Sat 22 to breakfast Mon 24.

Concert: 25 November – Masterworks

  • Concert Sunday 25 November, 3PM (tentative), Marist Auditorium, Newman College
  • Conductor Peter Moore (TBC)


  • Brahms – Double Concerto for Violin and Cello in A Minor (Brahms) (likely soloists Louise McKay, Margaret Blades) TBC
  • Haydn – Symphony no.104
  • Beethoven – Symphony no.3 (‘Eroica’) (larger orchestral work TBC)


Rehearsals likely commence 26 September (probable usual one-week break will be scrapped, given shorter period between concerts), final stage rehearsal at Marist 21 November

Concert: 16 December – Jingle Bells

  • Concert December 16, time TBC, at Leckie Pavilion (grassed area out front)
  • Conductor David Pye
