Great local talent — Innovative programs

1 February – after a stunning 2013 festival, FSO, UWA Choral Society and Chris van Tuinen (conductor) again join forces to present the music of India at the second annual Canning World Arts Exchange.

4 May – rising stars of the WA music scene Christopher Dragon (conductor) and Caitlin Cassidy (mezzo soprano) join us to present Elgar, Ravel, Dukas and Stravinsky’s extraordinary suite from the ballet The Firebird.

10 August – We bring you Brahms’ joyous second symphony and Bruch’s Scottish Fantasy from the bow of brilliant local musician Riley Skevington.

23 November – Pianist Roland Brand brings us Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto. Our musical director David Pye returns to conduct Tchaikovsky and the music of FSO’s own violinist/composer Carlos Ramirez.
